The LA County Sheriff’s Department hired Angel Reinosa to protect the community and to uphold justice.

So why didn’t they do the same for him?

On August 21st, 2019, at approximately 2:36 PM, Former Deputy Angel Reinosa was standing in the parking lot of Lancaster Sheriff’s Station when an unknown assailant shot him in the shoulder.

Three days later, Reinosa’s own department fired him after they claimed he confessed to fabricating the incident.

But Reinosa’s confession never happened.

The REAL story behind Reinosa’s assault and firing began three days BEFORE he was shot, when the officer in charge of Reinosa’s training ordered him to falsify a police report.

Reinosa’s training officer ordered Deputy Reinosa, a new officer under his purview, to fabricate a police report to protect himself from their superiors.

The training officer said Reinosa would face consequences if he refused to do as told.

Despite the potential backlash and hostile work environment, Reinosa refused.

The next day, Deputy Reinosa was assigned to work at the front desk at Lancaster Station as punishment for refusing to follow orders.

A concerned Reinosa planned to visit the offices of ALADS, a union association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs, on his upcoming day off so that he could get counsel on his situation.

Unfortunately, Reinosa’s day off wasn’t until August 22nd.

The day after he was shot.

Who shot Angel Reinosa?

On the day of the shooting, Reinosa was working the front desk at Lancaster Sheriff’s Station when a man entered the lobby and requested to speak with Deputy Reinosa regarding a gang-related issue.

The two of them left the station and conversed in the parking lot, where the man told Reinosa that gang members from Lancaster did not want him there and that they were going to kill him.

As Reinosa was gathering details, the man pointed down the street and said he saw one of the gang members standing by the Lancaster Metrolink Station.

Deputy Reinosa saw the man standing at the station and noticed that he carried a large bag, one large enough for a rifle.
